L’Appartement by Ligne Roset
L’Appartement by Ligne Roset® debuts in Lyon, France as Ligne Roset's latest store concept and innovative shopping experience, geared specifically toward interior designers and a cultivated clientele. Marie Christine Dorner designed the space to take guests on a journey to discover a true living space, outside of the confines of the pristine, gallery-like showroom experience.
“Ligne Roset’s collections make it a dynamic brand and this new distribution channel is as modern as the brand itself,” says Michel Roset, Roset Group. “This channel is the opposite of stores where products are usually shown in an “empty shell,” where we can only see them in context in catalogs and videos. With L’Appartement, Ligne Roset invites consumers ‘into its home,’ with an elaborate stage setting.”
Dorner created a 6-room contemporary apartment design with a European flair and a French savoir-faire. Ligne Roset’s collection is presented in luxury finishes combined with other key accent pieces, Murano glass from the Roset family collection and captivating artwork to give the place a personal, intimate touch.
L’Appartement creates a border between livable comfort and inspiring creativity in a spirit of experimentation. To achieve this balance, it brings two new collaborations to life – one with contemporary photography gallery Galerie Le Réverbère in Lyon and the other with Parisian paint and wallpaper atelier Mériguet-Carrère. Dorner creates a layered effect by covering the walls in nonconforming ways, creating unexpected shapes and intrigue. Her novel use of paint and wallpaper gives each room a sense of depth, texture, and dimensionality.
“Designing an apartment ‘without a client’ was an exciting exercise,” says Marie Christine Dorner. “It allowed me to create the ideal apartment, the only limit being the use of Ligne Roset collections. I also wanted to introduce the paint and wallpaper creations of Mériguet-Carrère to the public of Lyon and share the work of my favorite artists of Galerie Le Réverbère, which I have followed for the past 15 years.”
The idea is for this concept to be a provocation, inspiring new initiatives globally as Ligne Roset continues to push the industry forward.
