Since 1973, every Togo, whether a fireside chair or a small settee, has been entirely handmade in France, at the Ligne Roset factory in Briord, Ain. More than six hours of work are required to create each piece and master the art of sculpting its famous folds. Every movement, every seam, and every pleat contribute to creating a vibrant and unique silhouette, shaped by the experience and passion of the artisans. Togo thus embodies exceptional know-how, offering a quality and character that no copy can match.
Born in Lyon in a family of designers, Michel Ducaroy joined Ligne Roset at an early age and became an iconic figure in the all-foam design. With iconic creations like Togo, Adria, and Kashima, he revolutionised upholstery in the 1960s and 1970s through his mastery of foam, quilting, and modularity. His pieces continue to inspire contemporary design with their refinement and boldness.
