Design Michel Ducaroy
Designed in 1971 by Michel Ducaroy, the Togo’s creator, Marsala is making a come back in the Ligne Roset collection. With its enveloping silhouette and low seat, this creation has been given a new modern twist thanks to revisited materials.
With Marsala, Michel Ducaroy imagines a new way to sit. Its enveloping shell and generous cushion invite a relaxed posture, close to the ground.
Faithful to the original design, this creation reflects a vision of comfort that prioritises welcoming shapes and freedom of use.
Marsala is available as an armchair, medium and large settees, and a footstool. The range also includes the armchair and settees with or without armrests, to adapt to different spaces and lifestyles.
More than fifty years after its creation, Marsala retains its distinctive lines in a contemporary interpretation. Its original Altuglas shell has been replaced by a structure made of brown-stained beech plywood, favouring a more sustainable material. This evolution preserves the model's identity while reflecting a commitment to addressing current challenges.

Michel Ducaroy's work is based on exploring new forms of seating and the possibilities offered by material innovations. With Marsala, this research translates into a design that renews the codes of traditional seating and gives a central place to the tactile, visual, and emotional dimensions of comfort.
Joining the Ligne Roset design office in 1954, Michel Ducaroy contributed to renewing the forms of seating. From the Marsala to the Kashima, and including the famous Togo, his creations demonstrate an innovative approach to comfort, where generous shapes and new materials accompany the evolution of lifestyles.
