Karen Dining chair

Karen continues the collaboration between Ligne Roset and Patrick Jouin. This dialogue is further developed here through a shared commitment to design, comfort, and French craftsmanship. The piece is structured around an enveloping shell. Continuous and fluid, it welcomes the body with simplicity, in a gesture that is both protective and immediately visible. Reassuring without being bulky, it creates a solid volume that rests confidently on its base. The silhouette emerges from a single volume, carefully crafted in its proportions and the tension of its lines. A precise chamfer emphasises its contour, revealing a form that is both supple and sharp. The line flows, captures the light, and sets the volume in motion, like a hull slicing through water. This shell is complemented by a continuous base, assertive as a true structural element. It acts as a clear and visible foundation upon which the seat rests. A metal loop extends from the floor, follows the movement, and returns to anchor itself, creating a visible tension beneath the volume. This dialogue between the enveloping shell and its base forms the core principle of the design. The base gently suspends the shell, accentuating its lightness and simplicity. The seat is then available in a range of bases, in wood or metal. Regardless of the material, the principle remains the same. STRUCTURE
Structure dossier et accoudoir fils d’acier surmoulés de mousse injectée. Panneau d’assise en multiplis.
Piètement bois en frêne massif teinté noir satiné ou piètement tube en acier laqué époxy noir satiné.

CONFORT
Le dossier et les accoudoirs sont constitués de mousse polyuréthane injectée (35 kg/m3 - 3,2 kPa) parementée de mousse polyuréthane haute résilience Bultex (36 kg/m3 - 2,8 kPa) et de ouate polyester 110 g/m². L’assise est constituée de mousse polyuréthane haute résilience Bultex (48 kg/m3 - 7,1 kPa, 42 kg/m3 – 4,8 kPa et 38 kg/m3 – 2,8 kPa) parementé de ouate polyester 110 g/m².
