Guillaume Bardet

Guillaume Bardet was born in Rouen in 1971, where he lived until the age of 15 years before moving to Paris. At the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, from which he graduated in 1999, he met Jean-Marie Massaud, which whom he worked until June 2001. Independent from then on, he worked on his own designs in collaboration with a range of French (Dix heures dix, Vivendi Environnement, Triode, Louis Vuitton'), Belgian (Aquamass') and Italian (de Vecchi, Livit'') companies. Selected by the VIA in 2003 in the 'Appels à projets' section, he is currently working on his Paranox light with an Italian manufacturer. Selected by the VIA again the following year, he presented his Equilibre light at the salon du meuble de Paris in January 2004. A pensionnaire de l'Académie de France, he worked at the Villa Médicis for a year, developing a collection of nine pieces in marble entitled 'Mobilier immobile': these were shown at the galerie Yves Gastou in October 2003. In September 2004, he presented a collection of bath tubs designed for Aquamass at the salon de Now. At the same time, he was furthering his activities as an interior architect, working for both private clients (an apartment in Paris, a barn in Normandy) and companies such as Renault, for whom he designed two stands at the International Motor Show in September 2004. Since February 2005 he has been course leader at the Ateliers of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle. He lives and works in Paris.
