Erwan Bouroullec is a French designer, born in Quimper in 1976. In 1998, he graduated from the École nationale supérieure d'arts de Paris-Cergy. His studio is currently located in Paris, with another workspace in Burgundy, in the French countryside. After working side by side for decades and forming an influential creative duo in the world of design, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec are now concentrating on their own independent projects. Together, they have designed numerous creations in various fields, allying traditional craftsmanship with industrial production, along with long-term installations in public spaces. The principal producers with whom they have collaborated are Flos, Hay, Kvadrat, Samsung, Roset, Vitra, etc. Their works are frequently presented in prestigious exhibitions and museums all over the world, most notably at the MOCA (Los Angeles, 2004), the Victoria & Albert Museum (London, 2011), the Musée des Arts décoratifs (Paris, 2013), etc. Their creations also feature in many renowned public and private collections, such as the MoMA in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Art Institute of Chicago, demonstrating their lasting impact on contemporary design. Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have received numerous awards such as the London Design Medal (2014), the Compasso d’Oro (2022), etc. Erwan Bouroullec is represented by galerie kréo for his original designs and by the WrongShop for his limited and non-limited editions.
