Andreas Kowalewski

Andreas Kowalewski’s work encompasses a wide range of creative fields such as in furniture, lighting, consumer electronics, and strategic design consulting. The Berlin-born designer was initially trained as a carpenter before he began studying industrial design at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, followed by 10 years at Philips Design in Amsterdam. In 2017 he founded his own studio practice and started working with renowned brands and manufacturers. The numerous collaborations have won many international design awards. In 2021 he was appointed visiting professor at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Germany. His Studio aims to create contemporary and meaningful product solutions for everyday life, by reducing complexity in form and function while striving to create objects that center on the value of longevity with a brand focus.
