Kasumo Rug

The Kasumo rug is inspired by misty landscapes at sunrise or sunset (“kasumi” means mist in Japanese). In Japanese aesthetics, mist softens contours, blurs contrasts, and creates a hazy, serene perception of the landscape. The rug translates this effect through delicate, gradual gradations, where light beige, pale pink, and luminous hues seem to dissolve into one another. Inspired by “kasuri” textiles, known for their slightly off-centre and vibrant patterns, Kasumo evokes a veiled, calm, and contemplative textile landscape, where shapes gently appear and disappear. Each piece reinterprets ancestral craft techniques through a contemporary script, where the pattern becomes sensation, texture, and impression. 100% New Zealand wool rug, hand-tufted. For domestic use. Not adapted for underfloor heating.
