Philippe Morel-Lab

Philippe Morel-Lab is a French designer active since the early 1970s. His work focuses on the pursuit of rational and modular furniture, where structure and construction systems become the driving forces behind form. In 1973, he designed the ML80 range, a system of suspended wall-mounted cabinet that exemplifies this storage architectural approach. In the early 1980s, he founded ARIA (Atelier de Recherche et d’Industrialisation pour l’Ameublement – Furniture Research and Industrialisation Workshop), an organisation dedicated to developing prototypes and supporting furniture production, with the aim of creating a direct link between designers and manufacturers.
