The base holds a removable round top (H 1/2" (1.5cm) - Ø 15 3/4" (40 cm)) made of gloss-finish solid copper finished with a rust-proof transparent varnish. Copper is a metal which varies in color - never fully red, pink, or gold. Because the metal is 100 % recyclable and quite environmentally conscious, it is coming back into fashion in urban apartments; nostalgic perhaps, but undoubtedly modern.
