Anne Boysen

Anne Boysen (b. 1980, Sønderborg) is a Danish designer and architect working at the intersection of design, art, and architecture. After earning her Master of Arts in Architecture from Aarhus School of Architecture in 2012, and with additional studies in fine art, she founded her own studio south of Copenhagen, where she continues to explore the poetic intersection of form, function, and feeling. With deep roots in materiality – shaped early on by her upbringing in her father’s carpentry workshop – Boysen is known for transforming complex ideas into intuitive, sculptural designs. Her work is driven by a desire to create aesthetic and sensory experiences that resonate with the user. She balances aesthetic clarity with emotional resonance, creating objects that engage both the senses and the intellect. Boysen gained international recognition in 2020 when she won the Danish television competition Danmarks Næste Klassiker with her sculptural Moonsetter lamp. The design was subsequently put into production by Louis Poulsen and has since received several international awards, including the Wallpaper Design Award, Interior Design Best of Year Award and the Dezeen Award in the lighting category. Her portfolio spans furniture, lighting, product design, spatial design and collectible pieces. She collaborates with leading international brands such as Louis Poulsen, Georg Jensen, Kvadrat, Erik Jørgensen Furniture/Fredericia, Hightower, Ecco, dk3 and Ligne Roset. Across disciplines, her work is defined by a tactile sensibility and a refined balance between sculptural expression and everyday functionality.
