Peter Johansen graduated from the Danish School of Design (now the School of Design of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Denmark), faculty of furniture and spatial design, in 2004. He has received a number of grants from the Danish State Arts Foundation. In 2005, he was responsible for the design of the 'Dansk' café at the Danish Design Centre, with the 'Remove' design agency. Peter Johansen's working style often involves models and experimentation on a scale of 1/1. He draws inspiration from everyday life, from materials and from his immediate surroundings. In his own words, « I suppose I have a habit of taking notice of my surroundings ! » He describes his work as logical, as a flirtation with banality.
The son of a Norwegian father and a Swedish mother, Peter Johansen is a real mixture, a true Scandinavian.
