The design of the furniture or objects in my head often comes from the combination of simple volumes which offer each other mutual support. I work an edge, a thickness or a fold into them. These are the details which combine to create an object or piece of furniture.
The origins of whatever I design can often be found in the constructive systems and articulations one might find in architecture – from which also comes the desire to have the right material, in just the right quantity, in order to obtain an object of which the user will know just how to claim ownership.
