Born in Paris in 1991, Jennifer Hardel graduated from the École des Beaux Arts de Rennes in 2015, and from the École Supérieure d’Art et de Design de Saint-Étienne in 2017. She works on projects which are as much visual and industrial as they are narrative. The objects she designs tackle the formal conventions for products and furniture, resulting in a singular view of everyday life.
By combining colours, shapes and materials with a sense of detail, she creates hybridizations between art and design which redefine customs and behaviour. Her urban children’s furniture project, Mâtuvu, was awarded the ‘label Observeur du design 2018’.
